Mr. Blair lives in Monmouth with his wife, Ramya, daughter Mallika, and son Dolan. Mr. Blair enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, camping, and traveling with his family. He has spent many summers in Sri Lanka, where his wife's family lives.

This will be Keara's second year at JGEMS! She loves working with people of all ages and has a great love of the outdoors and environmental education. Last year's 8th grade research projects went great and she is looking forward to making this year just as -if not more- successful!

Marie Gravelle has a deep appreciation for nature. In pursuing those interests she became an environmental reporter for more than a decade before getting her masters in teaching from Willamette University. She lives in Salem with a husband, two teenagers, and too many (other) animals.

Mr. Randall, his wife Angela, and their two children live in Salem. Mr. Randall enjoys working with children, mathematics, basketball, and being amusingly funny.

Willow Myrland

After working as a field tech doing amphibian stream surveys for USGS for seven years, Mrs. Myrland found her true calling in teaching. She still loves amphibians, though, and always jumps at the chance to help students find some out in the field!

Cindy Lehmann
Subjects: Language Arts / Social Studies / Art
Education/Experience: 

    A native Oregonian who lives in Coburg with her husband John, Mrs. Lehmann enjoys traveling to warm places, hiking, skiing, cooking, and gardening. She has a Bachelors degree from the University of Oregon and a Masters from the University of Portland. She has been teaching for 30 years, the last 10 years at JGEMS. Mrs. Lehmann enjoys working with kids and sharing her love of the outdoors with her students.

    Mike Weddle
    Subjects: Conservation Biology / Technology / Physical Education
    Education/Experience: 

      Mike Weddle was born at a very early age, as was the custom in his family. He has been teaching for 35 years, the past 10 at JGEMS. He graduated from San Francisco State University and has a master’s degree in education from Oregon College of Education. He has worked extensively overseas for the Jane Goodall Institute in Tanzania and South Africa, for the Snow Leopard Conservancy in India and for the Smithsonian Institution in Myanmar.
